Students from the Catherine McAuley Strong Sisters Group were invited to contribute to an artwork that will be part of the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese Reconciliation Action Plan.

The Strong Sisters Group at Catherine McAuley is made up of indigenous students who come together to strengthen bonds and to discover and celebrate culture. Students from the group were invited to participate in an art workshop, lead by Indigico Creative, who will work with 10 schools in the Diocese to create a final piece of art which will become the official artwork for the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2025 - 2027.

Amy Allerton, Founder and Director of Indigico Creative and a proud Gumbaynggirr, Bundjalung and Gamilaroi woman, worked with the students on one section of the artwork which will represent the Parramatta River area. It will feature an eel, a significant animal for the Parramatta River, and will also feature artwork to represent the students and their journey as indigenous students at a Catholic school.
